When was the first time you really felt like a grown up (if ever)?When I was younger (makes me chuckle a bit that I can say this), I was considered beautiful by societal standards, so I modelled. As a proper freelancer, I had to register myself for tax and keep up with it instead of some company doing it for me. Unlike employees, who have PAYE automatically deducted, freelancers are responsible for declaring income, paying provisional tax, and sometimes even VAT.
Long story short: I’ve been paying tax since I was 19, and I literally get hives—and sometimes start to wheeze—when I see what the ANC, DA & EFF do with our money 🤮🤞🏾😭
Side Question why is SARS ( South African Revenue Service) so quick to chase civilians down for their money?? Why haven’t you been auditing these politicians? 🤔
