On 14 November 2025, Kumbatia San joined the teams at Cause & Effect Cocktail Kitchen and Fire Station BXL for a collaborative evening at the V&A Waterfront that brought together sharp flavour, creativity, and African-inspired craft.
For this event, I designed two canapés rooted in African ingredients:
• Biltong Carpaccio in a Sesame Tuile
A clean, refined bite that pairs South African flavour with delicate texture.
• Morula Xplosion
A playful marula milk tart finished with marula gel made using Divine Morula pulp.
Fire Station brought their signature edge to the space — a bar guest shift, music, and even a tattoo station that added to the night’s energy and storytelling.
Chef Jules, completed the food journey with The Wave, a lentil blini topped with yellowtail ceviche and a chocolate surprise.
The collaboration was a reminder of what Kumbatia San stands for: intentional flavour, African ingredients, and experiences that bring people together through food and culture.
It was a solid night with good people, and a meaningful step in the journey we are building.
Stay connected as we continue exploring, creating, and sharing African culinary artistry.
